SWIFT NETWORKS SPEEDS UP CYBERCAFÉ OPERATIONS

A successful hotspot service for cybercafé operators has been introduced by Swift Networks Limited across the country. The new service seeks to address a major challenge that limits the cybercafés from attaining full potentials in telecoms service delivery. A significant number of Nigerians have access to the World Wide Web via the over 2,800 Cyber cafes in the country.

The general Manager, Sales and marketing, swift Networks, Jacquie Onyejiaka-Nwandu noted that many Cybercafes cannot afford nor pay consistently for bandwidth required to run their operations due to low investments and consistent pressure on their cash-flow. The result is very slow and unreliable service that frustrates its customers. Swift Network brings to these operators a new service that speeds up access to the right equipment and adequate internet bandwidth that will enable them to deliver the kind of speed and service that will differentiate them from the average cybercafé. The operators only pays for the bandwidth used in smaller “pay as you go” chunks as they resell both broadband speed internet and voice services to their patrons. The service package comes also with a user management system for revenue assurance and accountability.

Cyber café operations will be connected via SWIFT’s metro Fibre optic and Microwave Access infrastructure in Lagos for the full speed effect. They will also be equipped with WiFi routers so that
People with laptops can work and download files directly wirelessly at very high speed.

Swift Networks is a provider of reliable, broadband data, Internet and phone services to enterprise, small and medium enterprises, including many of Nigerian leading banks, oil and Gas, manufacturing and service companies.

The company was licensed by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and recently launched a broadband service which has proved very popular among enterprise and mid-market users due to its reliability and simplicity.

Though it currently operates in Lagos, it has received spectra in the licensed 3.5GHz frequency to operate in River State and Abuja.

Swift will work with cybercafés with good management and operating experiences and to whom access to adequate bandwidth capacity will result in immediate and measurable transformation, according to a statement from the company.
